Why attend the Caregiver's Journey and Research Conference?
Welcome to the Caregiver’s Journey and Research Conference.
On April 17th, 2025 we invite attendees to join us in-person at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick, RI. A special thanks to the Office of Healthy Aging and the many businesses and organizations that continue to sponsor and support our Annual Caregiver's Journey and Research Conference.
Our conference continues to focus on helping caregivers develop the understanding and skills necessary to support a person living through the journey of Alzheimer's and all other dementia.

Our conference brings together caregivers, individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, community-based clinical care providers, clinical researchers, and scientists from across the state. Throughout the day, attendees will gain valuable insights, tools and resources tailored for caregivers, discuss groundbreaking research advances, and learn about ongoing clinical trials in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
We are thankful, for this year’s conference combines the Caregiver’s Journey Conference and the RI Research Conference. The Research Conference returns after a 6 year hiatus. We are truly grateful to Dr. Bess Frost, Director of the Brown University Center for Alzheimer’s Disease Research, and Dr. Ted Huey, Director of the Memory and Aging Program at Butler Hospital, for developing the research conference program.

We welcome Katie Brandt, Director Caregiver Support Services and Public Relations, Massachusetts General Hospital Frontotemporal Disorders Unit to our conference this year. She will present our keynote address titled:
Love, Loss & Resilience: A Caregiver Perspective on Life Lived Alongside Dementia
Our conference highlights include:

-
A full day of professional respite care so a caregiver can attend the conference.
-
An immersive experience to demonstrate living with dementia to help develop self-awareness, understanding and empathy for those living with dementia.
-

-
Plenty of time for attendees to meet with local resources from our Rhode Island Community to support their caregiving journey.
